About

The original concept is courtesy of Susanne and Ellen - their project is still active (with new owners) at the Swedish EFIT website. Average-Day.net was originally created and run by Birgit, and it was later on adopted to me (Miia).

The idea is to document a day of your life, by taking one photo each hour on a given date. There are twelve such days during the year, one each month, on randomly chosen dates.

How you choose to take your photos is entirely up to you; macros, "artistically enhanced", plain situation overviews or what-have-you. You are also free to work on your pictures in a graphics program, but remember that they should be available for visitors within a day after each project date.

If you are restricted from taking pictures during periods of a project day (a job meeting, a school test etc), you can still participate that day - simply skip those hours.

We strongly recommend the use of comments enabled scripts for displaying the photos. You can post all the photos to a blog entry, or use a gallery script. It's inspiring, bonding and fun to get feedback on your pictures!

All the participating websites in this project are sorted by categories. The reason for this is simply to make it easy for our members to find new places to visit, based on their interests. Please read the category descriptions closely before submitting your link, and spend some time on making the description of your website as accurate and inviting as possible.
